- Register new patients on the computer system. Responsible to enter all the details of the patient in HIS and register the patient by generating a Reg. No. (UHIDunique ID number.)
- Register the OPD appointments; make admissions in the medical software.
- To direct patients to the appropriate professional,
- To do indoor admission and to make the case paper.
- To fix appointments / consultation with doctors / consultant for patients, visitor, M.R. etc.
- To meet and greet patients, members of the public and visitors to the practice in a friendly and courteous manner
- Adhere to customer care guidelines and assure quality care.
- Any duty that may be properly deemed by the Centre Manager or Doctors to be part of the role of receptionist
- Arranging stretcher, wheelchair or ambulance for the patient as and when required.
- Attend training courses in house and externally to develop expertise and further knowledge
- Check all things in the OPD are in proper place.
- Comply with all in house and statutory Health & Safety procedures
- Giving appointments for OPD/Radiology departments with instruction for the patient to follow.
- Greeting the incoming visitors in a courteous manner
- Guide the patient to payment counter
- Handle receipt and dispatch of couriers and perform related clerical duties according to the department to which assigned.
- If doctor is not coming or coming late, to inform other departments of the same.
- Keeps record of calls placed
- Maintaining various registers and files in department and those required for key quality indicators.
- Managing the flow of the OPD and ensuring smooth workflow.
- Participation when requested, in the delivery and collection of items to and from Trust, hospitals or any other place on practice business
- Receive visitors or patients, ascertain their needs and direct them accordingly.
- Redirecting the patient and/ or relative to Medical Social Workers as required.
- To manage EPBAX in absences of operator
